Autism housing remains as one of the top concerns of parents going into the new year. “Where will my child live when I am gone?” haunts families every day. As one autism parent, I am no different.

Urban infill developments are more accessible for families to visit regularly than rural or out of state housing options. As a society, we have to prioritize autism housing in our urban core as well as rural options to give our struggling families every possible option to remain connected and participate in the lives of their loved ones.

So I asked a team of designers, parents & experts to imagine the possibilities on a tiny urban lot across from a new YMCA in San Diego and this is what they come up with.
